Meditation Is Just Letting Each Experience Be

Meditation is simply letting each experience be. Each experience is gently welcomed and, accordingly, is allowed to unfold however it does.

There is thus no struggle, no fight, no resistance. There’s neither liking nor disliking. There’s no desire to change the experience nor is there any fear that the experience will last forever.

If there is any thought–a strong like, a strong dislike, a desire, a fear–that arises after some other experience and that wishes to do something with it, then this thought is seen as just another arising and, as such, is allowed to slowly unfold. Any intervention or interference is treated just as lightly as every other experience. Thus, the prior experience is not turned into ‘a problem’ or made into ‘a big deal.’

What makes welcoming all experiences possible is the fact that I am always and only conscious presence. I’m the gentle welcoming of whatever it is that is arising. I play no favorites just because I am in no way perturbed by the content of any objective experience. I have nowhere to go because I am myself, conscious presence. I don’t–can’t–flinch or clutch or squint. Nothing, for me as conscious presence, is a distraction, a disturbance, an intrusion since I’m simply the Illumination that illumines this very experience.

Only being myself, conscious presence, I have no goal, no job, no agenda. Because every experience confirms my existence, I naturally and relaxedly abide as myself, that is, as conscious presence. As such, I am free; I am peace.
