A Positive Thought Is Closer To Truth Than A Negative Thought

Listen very carefully to your thoughts and emotions.

A negative thought or negative emotion, provided that you believe it to be true, is an energy sieve. From the point of view of energy, you should be able to confirm that such a thought or emotion is, in some metaphysical sense, false.

Why so? A positive thought or emotion is–if you give yourself up to it and follow its course–pointing to a higher level of manifestation. That higher level will then fade away, revealing the Source.

By contrast, a negative thought or emotion is clearly an instance of a samskara: that is, of an ego tendency. The latter, in this case, is either in a “blue state” in the sense that it’s marked by doubt, sadness, or fear, or in a “red state” insofar as it’s typified by aggression or anger.

Therefore, one needs to be watchful over doubts and complaints especially. And one is invited to be very open to genuine gratitude as well as boundless possibility. Letting go of memory, one experiences what Zen sometimes calls “don’t know mind.”

While a negative thought reinforces a false sense of separation, a positive thought, being Tantric, is inviting one to merge with or melt into Love. It’s not that the positive thought is ultimately true, but it is fair to say that it’s truer than the negative thought. The provisional truth of the positive thought can be felt in the more subtle energy one is experiencing.

The ultimate truth of energy, of course, is the Source: pure Presence.
